Six Cards, One Betterpress Plate!

Hey there craft enthusiasts! Ready for a more Betterpress cards? So today, we dive into card-making with the Spellbinders Betterpress system.

Spellbinders has some beautiful new plates out for the Betterpress for the Fall. Today I'm taking one of those plates and I'm going to use it to make 6 different cards.

Starting with the Basics
I kicked things off making my card fronts that I'll then use in many different ways. We're talking zero fuss – just using the system as it is, maybe throwing in a few decorations here and there. And guess what? It was a breeze! It took me just about 10 minutes to make seven card fronts. Each one looked fab and super classy. They could have been used exactly as-is for a lovely card. That's the beauty of the Betterpress!

Experimenting with Watercolor Pencils
For my first card, I grabbed the Arteza watercolor pencils. If you're in a rush, these pencils are your best friend. They're perfect for quick designs and the results? Gorgeous! The outcome was a card that's simple, elegant, and just as the plate intended.

Mixing Things Up
I decided to shake things up a bit with card number two. Instead of sticking strictly to the plate's design, I played around, using individual elements from the plate to create something unique. But here's a tip: if you're considering this plate, do yourself a favor and grab the matching dies. It'll save you from the fuss of cutting things out yourself.

I my hand at a bit of lunar paste, my first time using it!. To be honest, the card front it didn't turn out exactly as I'd hoped at first. The colors stayed distinct rather than blending, which wasn't quite the fall vibe I was aiming for. But hey, crafting is all about learning and adapting! And in the end I really liked this square card!

Shaking Things Up with a Shaker Card
For a dash of fun, I made a shaker card using some jewels from the Dollar Tree. I even threw in some neat dollar store transfers. The outcome? A sparkling beauty that might just be my favorite creation from this session!

Exploring with Embossing Pens
Before wrapping up, I gave distress embossing pens a go. These are basically clear embossing ink in pen form, perfect for some detailed embossing on those leaves. I'm still experimenting with these, but it was so much fun to try this new-to-me method!

Fifth Card

The Betterpress plates can also be used with the Glimmer Foil Machine from Spellbinders, which is a beautiful look! If you don't have a Glimmer Foil Machine though, you can get a very similar result just using some embossing ink on your plate and some gold embossing powder. This simple card gives a striking result.

 Not just for Fall!

This last card has a springtime vibe, proving how versatile this plate can be! This card uses the center section of the second card we made with the lunar paste. Re-using scraps to make beautiful cards is a great way to get more out of your supplies -- and you can't even tell that it was a scrap piece! The butterfly sticker is a Spellbinders embellishment and gives the perfect final touch.

Final Thoughts
All in all, crafting with the Spellbinders Better Press system was an adventure! Not everything turned out as planned, but that's the beauty of crafting, right? Every experiment and 'oops' moment is a step towards mastering the craft.
